The newest community in Santa Clarita, Stevenson Ranch, is a small master planned community set in the foothills of the Santa Susanna Mountains. Its 4,000 acres features more than 8,000 homes designed to meet any pocketbook, from condominiums to large estates. This planned community, approved by the county in 1987, offers wide-open spaces and breathtaking views, with approximately 1,000 acres designated for open space, recreation and parkland.

This small community offers small town spirit, fostering close-knit neighborhoods and family-oriented community-wide activities such as festivals and holiday celebrations. Recreation opportunities include the new Dr. Richard H. Rioux Memorial County Park with soccer fields, baseball diamonds, basketball, two children's play areas and an outdoor amphitheater. The Welcome Home Center serves as an information dissemination point for new neighborhoods and homeowners information, as well as a cultural venue and community gathering place. The popular Stevenson Ranch Plaza is a great place for Stevenson Ranch residents to shop, dine and socialize. Other recreational opportunities include Santa Clarita Valleys championship golf courses and the nearby historic, oil-mining town of Mentryville, founded in 1875.

Education is a major priority of the community. Stevenson Ranch Elementary School has been honored as one of the select few "California Distinguished Schools." The communities newest schools include Pico Canyon Elementary School, Rancho Pico Jr. High and West Ranch High School.

Stevenson Ranch is only half an hour from Los Angeles to the north and approximately 40 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. Its location within Santa Clarita and near Los Angeles provides its residents with all the amenities of big town living and yet softens it with small town charm.
